“The opposing team is going down because we are the champions,” Russell said onstage at the GLAAD Awards.

He’s played six seasons in the NFL and started 32 games.
Khelil is the brother of Kameron Saunders, the out LGBTQ dancer and choreographer best known for his work on Taylor Swift‘s The Eras Tour. They grew up in the St. Louis area, which is where the camp will take place.
It was no doubt through Kameron that Khelil became involved with the GLAAD Awards, reminding everyone the power of being out and having a connection to an out LGBTQ person.

Also in GLAAD Media Award news, Outsports’ parent company Q.Digital was given a big award and a shout-out from the stage.
Outsports’ video series “Ballin’ Out” — about lesbians in wheelchair basketball — for some reason did not win an award, despite being nominated. It’s the eighth time Outsports has been nominated for a category award. Zero wins (though Outsports was given a special award for 2021 Olympics coverage).
