This Week in ourLGBTQ+ Youth Groups Learn Safety Strategies This week’s Sparks groups will feature a coach from Teenpower presenting on the topic of learning skills to protect yourself and others from bullying, harassment, and assault. Join us at The Spahr Center, or via Zoom by emailing Nikki Millett (they/them), cultural and community programs manager. Registration required for Zoom. Sparks Group for middle school youth: Tuesday, January 10th, 4:00pm-5:00pmSparks Group for teens: Tuesday, January 10th, 5:30pm-6:30pm.Register for Zoom Now NEW: LGBTQIA+ Adult Community Group Building Community with Queer Adults The first meeting for this new group has been moved to THIS Thursday, January 12th, and will meet every Thursday from 6:00pm-7:00pm at The Spahr Center. Join us to get support, explore your identity, and build queer community with other LGBTQIA+ adults in Marin. To join the group, click the link below to email Iain Jasko (they/them), clinical intern.Sign Up Now Marin LGBTQ+ Student Panel Hear from LGBTQ+ Students in Marin This LGBTQ+ student panel is presented by The Spahr Center’s Training Institute. We provide LGBTQ+ cultural competency and awareness trainings to businesses, health care organizations, government agencies, schools, nonprofits, and more. This special panel will feature LGBTQ+ students speaking about their experiences navigating Marin schools as young queer people, and is open to the public.Register Now Advocate for Mental Health Servicesfor LGBTQ+ People in Marin We Need Your Voice! Marin County’s Behavioral Health and Recovery Services is conducting a survey on ways to use three-year funding from the Mental Health Services Act. Complete the short survey by clicking the button below to provide your input on how funding should be prioritized for LGBTQ+ people in Marin. Email Will Boemerto Register Internships Available Our internships provide students with high-quality experiential learning opportunities at an LGBTQ+ community-based nonprofit organization.
